Top Notch Quality Product!

I’ve tried many different CBD oils. Many from some of the “other more familiar” companies most people are aware of. NOTHING comes close to working for me like this product. I will continue coming back to Zatural for my CBD oil.

Zatural CBD Products: 2021 Review

We include products we think are useful for our readers. If you buy through links on this page, we may earn a small commission. Here’s our process.

If you’ve recently decided to try cannabidiol (CBD), you probably know that there are a lot of products out there. It can be hard to know which brands are reputable and which you should avoid.

Since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t guarantee the quality, safety, or effectiveness of CBD products, it’s extra important to research brands before you buy so you can make sure you’re getting something high quality.

One of the brands you may have found on your search is Zatural. We dug into Zatural’s reputation, the quality of its process and products, and some of its best products.

Read on to learn more about Zatural and whether it’s the right brand for you.

Zatural was started by Maryann Stanger, a naturopathic doctor, in 2018. The company sells what it calls “all-natural” products made without harsh chemicals, fillers, or additives.

The company hasn’t been involved in any lawsuits related to its products or business practices, and it hasn’t received any FDA warning letters about product claims. This means it’s likely avoiding making any unproven health claims about its products and isn’t engaging in shady business practices.

Zatural has an A rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), though it only has one review and isn’t currently a BBB-accredited business.

This might be important to some consumers who value BBB accreditation, but a lack of accreditation doesn’t necessarily reflect poorly on the brand. It may just mean the company doesn’t want or have the means to pay the sometimes hefty annual fee to become an accredited business.

Zatural goes into detail on each product page about the way it processes its CBD. There, you’ll see that Zatural uses Colorado-grown hemp for all of its products.

It also uses a carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction method, which is a fairly common way of extracting CBD from hemp. Since CO2 extraction doesn’t use any solvents or other chemicals, some say it results in a “cleaner” product.

Zatural also says its hemp is 100 percent organically grown without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers. A quick search on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s website shows that it doesn’t appear to be certified organic, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not following organic farming practices.

Zatural’s products are tested both internally and by an ISO 17025-compliant third-party lab. ISO 17025 certification means the lab has demonstrated that they produce valid results. Each product’s certificate of analysis (COA) and available third-party lab tests are posted alongside its description, but some products have less testing information available than others.

The Full-Spectrum CBD Oil Drops, for example, have comprehensive internal and third-party testing for potency and contaminants, while the CBD Gummy Bears and Full-Spectrum CBD Softgels only have information about the various cannabinoids tested.

Zatural says this is because all of its products are made using the same CBD oil. So, although the oil that goes into each product is tested for contaminants, many of the final products are not. It’s best when the final products are comprehensively tested, since microbial contamination can happen during the manufacturing process.

While Zatural says it’s compliant with the FDA’s current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) , it doesn’t appear to have third-party certification in this area.

Zatural says it makes its products from THC-free full-spectrum CBD. Describing its product as full-spectrum is a little confusing, since true full-spectrum CBD should contain at least a little THC.

Because Zatural removes THC entirely, some of its products align better with what’s commonly known as broad-spectrum CBD. Other products appear to be made with CBD isolate. It’s always best to check the COA to see what’s truly in the product.

Zatural offers a lot of different products, including oils, softgels, edibles, creams and salves, essential oils, bath bombs, dog products, and hand sanitizer. These products come in a range of potencies, and prices are largely based on the size and potency of each product — from about $12 up to $200. They’re reasonably priced compared with many CBD brands.

The company also offers military and senior discounts to help make its products more accessible to these populations.

Customer reviews are generally very positive both on Zatural’s site and on third-party review sites like Trustpilot (though reviews on third-party sites are few).

If you scroll through any reviews on Zatural’s site, you might notice an asterisk with a note that says: “Zatural: A few words have been modified to meet FDA requirements on claims. The key message has not been modified.”

Some CBD companies — like Charlotte’s Web, for example — have received FDA warning letters in the past because reviews posted to their site mentioned specific diseases that reviewers claimed the products helped relieve. Zatural may be taking extra caution and removing mentions of specific diseases from its reviews.

Zatural also has a clear return policy in which customers can return products within 60 days of purchase. There aren’t many customer reviews that mention the return policy, so it’s unclear if returning items is a good experience.

Pricing guide

  • $ = under $20
  • $$ = $21–$40
  • $$$ = over $40

Full-Spectrum CBD Herbal Drops

Price $$–$$$
CBD type Isolate
CBD potency 300 milligrams (mg), 1,000 mg, or 1,500 mg per 1-ounce (oz.) bottle
600 mg, 2,000 mg, or 3,000 mg per 2-oz. bottle
1,200 mg, 4,000 mg, or 6,000 mg per 4-oz. bottle

This CBD oil is a bestseller on Zatural’s website. It’s made with two simple ingredients: CBD oil and hempseed oil. Like CBD, hempseed oil also comes from the hemp plant and has health benefits of its own.

You can get this oil in a natural flavor, or you can try one of their other flavors, like natural sweet, coffee, lemon lime, cinnamon, spearmint, or peppermint. Flavor is added using stevia or essential oils.

One thing to note is that some reviewers complain that the dropper doesn’t have a measurement on it. That may make it a little tough to dose the product precisely.

Although Zatural says this product is full-spectrum, the COA shows it to be made of CBD isolate.

CBD Softgels with Melatonin

Price $–$$$
CBD type Broad-spectrum
CBD potency 25 mg per softgel

These softgels are formulated with 25 mg of CBD and 1 mg of melatonin, which can help support better sleep. There are only a few reviews, but they’re all positive.

We also took a look at its sister product — the CBD softgels without melatonin — which have more reviews. Reviewers say they’ve been able to find all kinds of relief from taking them softgels daily.

Though Zatural claims this product is made from “THC-free full-spectrum” CBD, the COA suggests that it’s actually made from broad-spectrum CBD.

The first thing to know is that in addition to CBD products, Zatural sells hemp oil products, which don’t contain any CBD. If you’re looking specifically for CBD products, make sure you’re shopping in the CBD section on Zatural’s website.

Which CBD product you choose will be largely based on why you’re taking CBD and what kinds of products you prefer.

If you know you want a product for a particular use, it could be helpful to look at each product’s ingredients beyond CBD. For example, if you’re dealing with insomnia, you might want to go for the CBD Softgels with Melatonin.

If you’re totally unsure what kind of product to try, you might want to consider the CBD Sample Pack. It includes sample sizes of CBD oil, softgels, gummy bears, and honey sticks, so you can decide what you like before committing to a full-size product.

Zatural has a lot of different kinds of products. Here are some general guidelines on how to use each:

  • Edibles. Zatural offers gummies, mints, gum, honey sticks, and raw honey. The gummies, mints, gum, and honey sticks are precisely dosed, meaning they contain a specific amount of CBD and you don’t need to worry about figuring out the dose.
  • Softgels. Softgels are also precisely dosed and super easy to add into your routine.
  • Oils. Zatural’s oil drops work like a tincture, so you’ll place them under your tongue for quicker absorption into the bloodstream. If you’re interested in this product, you may want to try the 300 mg oil first. That way, you can see how you feel before trying something more potent.
  • Topicals. Topicals aren’t precisely dosed, so you’ll need to start with a small amount (about as much as you’d use of a non-CBD topical). From there, you can make sure you don’t have any skin sensitivities. You can work your way up to a higher dose if needed.
  • Bath bombs. Bath bombs are a fun way to soak yourself in CBD. Just add to a bathtub full of water and let the CBD and other ingredients fizzle and disperse before hopping in.
  • CBD for pets. There’s limited research on how CBD affects pets. Always talk to your vet before giving your pet CBD, but keep in mind that in some states, vets may not be able to recommend CBD for animals.
  • Essential oils. There are many ways to use essential oils in general. Zatural recommends using a diffuser, adding drops to a hot shower, rolling onto your temples, and even using them as cleaning products.

No matter which product you choose, be sure to consider potency. The right CBD dosage for you depends on a variety of factors, like your weight and body chemistry. It’s a good idea to start small and work your way up as needed until you find what works for you.

It’s important to talk to your doctor before trying CBD, especially if you’re taking any medications. Certain medications may interact with CBD.

Though CBD is generally considered to be safe, a 2017 review of studies found that some people may experience side effects, such as:

  • tiredness
  • diarrhea
  • changes in appetite
  • changes in weight

A recent study found that consuming high fat meals while taking CBD products by mouth can increase CBD blood concentrations. That means your risk of side effects may increase.

Zatural is a relatively new company that sells THC-free CBD products. It offers a wide range of affordable products that reviewers seem to really love.

Though Zatural says it uses organic hemp to make its products, it doesn’t currently seem to be certified organic. It also doesn’t test all of its final products for contaminants — but it does test its CBD oil, which is used in all of their CBD products, for contaminants.

Zatural says it uses full-spectrum CBD in its products, but the COAs show that the products are actually made with broad-spectrum CBD or CBD isolate.

If you decide to try Zatural products, make sure to talk to your doctor about using CBD first.

Is CBD Legal? Hemp-derived CBD products (with less than 0.3 percent THC) are legal on the federal level, but are still illegal under some state laws. Marijuana-derived CBD products are illegal on the federal level, but are legal under some state laws. Check your state’s laws and those of anywhere you travel. Keep in mind that nonprescription CBD products are not FDA-approved, and may be inaccurately labeled.
